Before I had a baby, and even up until last month, I always encouraged mothers to have "just one more" baby. Many women (and men) in lds culture do this same thing. Around baby's first birthday, it's customary to begin chiding mommy about having, "just one more". "When is the next one coming?", or, "Are you trying for more yet?", we ask.

Drew turned one year last month and so (of course) everyone wants to know when the next little Jacobson will be conceived. I'd just like to take a moment to set the record straight on this subject. Just so you all know there will be NO MORE LITTLE NEWBORN BABIES in this house for a long, long time. Furthermore, if Drew's non-sleeping habits continue there will be no more little newborn babies in this house EVER.

I think the kid has some kind of built-in alarm that triggers his crying mechanism every time I try to get some shut-eye. If only I could disconnect the alarm. It's 3:30 a.m. and I still haven't gotten a single wink. Yes, this has been going on for about 13 months. And yes, I have tried Baby Wise, and Ferber, and The No Cry Sleep Solution, and The Secrets of the Baby Whisperer, and Tylenol... I'm exhausted.

Wish me luck, I'm going to try (again) to get some sleep.

The End.

*Disclaimer* Don't worry, I'm not the least bit mad at anyone for asking about "just one more". This is just a random rant. And actually, we probably will have another one in a couple of years. Earlier if Drew starts sleeping.

I feel your pain!! Lil' J is almost 3 and while he had been a good sleeper, he recently decided he'd rather NEVER sleep again!! Grr! No naps, getting up after bedtime 'til well past 10 pm, up again by 4 am ready to start the day again!! Big J and I are EXHAUSTED! We're trying to figure out what we did with M to help him stay in his bed once he was down for the night, and because we're so TIRED we just don't remember! Any tips?

CRAP - I think that the older Cameron gets, the worse he sleeps. I think that he and Drew might end up having a lot in common! It's driving me CRAZY!!!
