This week Drew celebrated his FIRST birthday! And Garrit turned 27!
Yeah... uh... both birthdays were pretty lame. It's my fault. I'm NO GOOD at planning birthdays. Actually, I'm getting VERY GOOD at messing them up.
On Drew's birthday I was just busy. For presents he got two unwrapped, used toys from D.I. and half of an un-frosted cupcake with no candles. Here's the 30 second video of the celebration.
Garrit's birthday was awful.
We PLANNED a special day for him: He would go to the BYU game with Blair and Tyler, and then I would pick him up and take him to his favorite restaurant, Tucanos.
Yeah. He DID go to the game.
Buuut I didn't pick him up. He couldn't reach me and I had no idea the game had ended. He tried to call me for TWO HOURS! Then he thought I died so he called the cops! Anyway, he ended up waiting in the pouring rain at the stadium for almost three hours... and when I finally picked him up we couldn't even go to Tocanos because they were booked!
So we ended up grabbing a quick bite at the Macaroni Grill (Borson fillet and chocolate cake). Garrit smiled through the shivers as he ate his steak.
What a guy. We've been together for almost 6 years, right honey? I guess you know by now what to expect.
I'm thinking maybe if I start planning NOW for next year's birthdays...

Leah is too hard on herself. I had a great birthday. The BYU game was awesome. I did have to wait in the rain after the game for a while but it's not a big deal. And I just worry too much, I'm sure I get that from my mom. Leah was at home painting so I thought she passed out from the fumes or something. And Macaroni Grill was really good. The Boursin fillet is one of the best steaks I have ever had. If you haven't tried it, you should. Leah's a great wife and I had a really nice birthday.
Leah I'm sure you did fine...didn't your last post say that you went to Disneyland for Garrit's birthday? That is a pretty sweet birthday. And I can't believe Drew is already 1! Yikes. His hair is the greatest. It's fun to hear you talk like a mom...mostly because I remember when we went and tried on leotards and ballet slippers that you need an appointment for. whoops
Oh my gosh! I laughed out loud reading this post! First the video of Drew! So dang cute! I thout it was cute how careful you were with him. No frosting, and then no tickling either! You guys are such cute parents! Then of course I laughed at the cute discription of Garrits birthday events! Funny! I loved it!
So did the cops show up at your house? I'm surprised you didn't throw a party with a cake shaped like a football.
Thanks guys. I guess Disneyland and the BYU/UCLA game was a pretty good present.
The cops didn't come to the house. Garrit was on the other line with them when I FINALLY called him. I would have FREAKED out if the cops came over. I can just picture it, "Are you Mrs. Jacobson?"
Soooo....when's baby #2 coming! LOL I loved his b-day pics. Next year maybe frosting!?!
