My husband is UNBELIEVABLE!

I don't know how he does it... but EVERY TIME we watch a movie together, he always manages to fall asleep during the MOST INTENSE scene. Tonight he rented "Knowing".

(Which was way, way too scary for me... And pretty dumb... Don't see it.)

Anyway...

Just as I was about to pee my pants watching the trench coat aliens kidnap Caleb and Abby, I looked over at him and he was OUT COLD!!!

What???

I took two Benadryl before the movie... and I still stayed awake.

Good thing I had Lily to snuggle with while he slept through the world catching fire.

Somehow he woke up to watch sports highlights after the movie.

I still love him.

Seriously, every time I read this I cry. And think. And cry. And think some more. And I remember what life is really about. I've pretty much spent the whole day catching up on Stephanie. Now it's time to clean up before Garrit gets home.

Right now Drew is climbing all over me, coloring on my pants, and wailing like some kind of wild animal.

It's been a while.

Taking care of two is twice as hard as taking care of one.
Who would have thought???

Anywho, some of you may have heard we're using cloth diapers over here.
And some of you think I'm crazy.

But, after throwing away about a billion disposable diapers, and feeling terribly guilty with each toss, I decided to make the switch.

I tried hybrid diapers (g diapers) with Drew when he was about two. I used the little g pants with flushable liners. I LOVED the flushable liners... for about a week. Eventually I got sick of the poopy mess the liners made, not to mention I was wasting a TON of water trying to flush them, and, like all disposable diapers, the liners were EXPENSIVE!

So, I gave up.

Then, I heard about g cloth. Basically, g cloth is the same idea as the g diaper, but you wash the inserts instead of flushing them. You can buy the inserts from the g diaper site, but it's cheaper to just make your own from the prefold diapers you buy at WalMart (which I did.)

Anyway, it's been about a week since we started. Drew is still in disposables (I'm trying to potty train him) and Lily is in g cloth. So far, washing the g cloth is not a big deal. I breastfeed her so her poop isn't really stinky and it comes right out after a good soak in the wash.

We've had a couple minor setbacks. Drew threw a whole bunch of Lily's clean onsies in her poopy diaper pail on Monday... so I had to re-wash those... and then when I switched to a wet pail on Tuesday it leaked a little on my carpet... so I had to steam clean. (Which wasn't a big deal to me because I had to steam clean my carpets anyway... and I own a steam cleaner.)

I am doing more laundry than before (an extra load every 2 or 3 days) but I feel good because I am one step closer to being disposable free.

Now to get Drew potty trained...
