Sigh. Not really. Maybe in our dreams. We just got back and we're already planning our next trip. It was a BLAST! Grandpa Mathews took us and the whole Mathews family.

Hanging 5 in Hawaii
Blog by Garrit:
Our trip in Hawaii is going great. Today we rented some kayaks and went up and down the Wailua River. We stopped along the river and hiked to a cool waterfall where we swam in the pool below the fall. We also stopped to hike to a beautiful Fern Grotto. Finally, we rowed over to a swimming hole. There was a little cliff we jumped off right next to a rope swing tied to a big tree. I tried juming off the cliff a couple of times and then I tried the rope swing. It was fun so I thought I would try it one last time. The video is posted below.
It all happened pretty fast. Don't worry, I was able to reach up and grab the rope. As soon as I lifted myself up a little the rope untangled and I dropped back into the water. My ankle is pretty swollen and bruised, but luckily I didn't break anything. My mother-in-law has been taking good care of me. She gave me an ice pack that has helped quite a bit. I was just happy that my sister-in-law (Rochelle) was taking a video while I jumped. Now everyone can enjoy the fun I experienced.

Now THAT'S Tired!!!
It's been a busy, busy week for us! We've been trying to close on our new house, pack up our stuff, clean our rental, pack for our Hawaii trip, and keep up with Drew. He's been a pretty good sport about everything but yesterday, after our morning yard sale, he let us know he'd had enough! I put him in his high chair and fed him some lunch to try to cheer him up. After about a minute of whining and scarfing hot dogs and cheerios, I looked over at him and saw this...
My Little Hacker
Drew LOVES our new laptop! Right now, as I type this, he is whining and clawing, trying to get at it!
Last week I finally let him play with it. He was sooo content! He probably could have typed for hours.
Maybe he'll be a programmer when he grows up. Or maybe a hacker. Here are some pictures of him and his favorite toy.

Drew's Poker Face
Drew loves his Grandma Mathews and Grandma Hancock. Here he is, trying to impress them with his best poker face!
MEMORIES...
Last night I went to Debbie's Heritage Makers Party. Sooo fun! I didn't buy anything but I DID hear some cute memories from Grandma Stickney, Debbie, Aunt Sharon, Amie, and Blair.
Grandma Stickney told us one of her first memories of her mother. She said when she was a little girl, her mom asked her to go outside and get some hay for the animals on their farm. She went outside but before she could go far, her mom called her right back to the house. She ran back and as she reached the house she saw her mother standing with a little bird on her shoulder! She said she'll never forget how amazing it was to see a bird just sitting there on her mom.
Debbie said she remembers going to the house where Grandma Stickney grew up in Lake Shore. It was a beautiful house with a real, working farm. She remembers visiting with Grandma Stickney. After they walked around the house, Grandma sat on a fence outside and just looked at the farm. Debbie said she remembers a breeze was blowing through Grandma's hair and she could tell Grandma was remembering what life was like living on the farm.
Sharon remembers being sooo excited for Grandpa to come home from work when she was a little girl. Grandpa worked for the post office and he would ride his mail bike home. Grandma would tell the kids when Grandpa was on his way home and they would wait for him outside or by the big front window. When he got home, if there wasn't too much mail in his basket, he would take the kids for a ride on his bike. He put two kids in the basket and one on the front handle bars and took them all riding up and down the street!
Amie told us her favorite vacation memory. She said she and the kids LOVED their Disney cruise. Every one's favorite part of the vacation was the room service! They had a great time swimming and playing, but it was sooo fun to order pizza and giant chocolate chip cookies at midnight.
When Blair was a little boy, he got to take home a baby chick from his kindergarten class. The first night he brought it home, he put it in a little box in his bedroom. Unfortunately, he couldn't sleep because the chick kept chirping all night long. It chirped and chirped. Blair thought it was probably cold and decided to bring it to bed with him. When he woke up the next morning, the little chick was laying on the bed next to him, flat as a pancake!
The End.
