Happy Birthday to US!

Did you know that three out of four Jacobsons in our little family have September birthdays? The kids have birthdays three days apart and Garrit's birthday is four days later. Somehow I though it would be really fun to have all the birthdays together. (I really like virgos.) As it turns out, it's not that fun. Actually, it was a really stressful month. No one got a real birthday party because we've been so busy with our surprise bathroom and kitchen makeovers. (SURPRISE! I'll tell you about those later...) And so I'm thinking of switching Drew's birthday to March and Lily's to July.

We did go to Park City on a little stay-cation to celebrate Garrit's birthday and to give the kids a bath. (They were sick of taking showers in the downstairs bathroom while our master bath is under construction.) Here are the pics.

Lily ready to go swimmin'.

Dad and Lil' hot tubbin'.

Drew loves to swim!

Strong Winds

Remember that crazy thunderstorm last night? Check out what it did to our tree. (Look at the stump and roots.)

Vaughn Walker is an idiot.

That's all for now.

Foster Child

Meet our foster child, Sadie.

Okay, she's not really our foster child... but she's over here all day every day.

Strangely enough, it doesn't bother me that she practically lives here because she keeps Drew entertained.

The Chicken Mansion

I asked Garrit to build a coop for the chickens.

And this is what he came up with.

Isn't it beautiful?

Now I just need to paint it.

How to Reupholster Your Sofa

Step 1: Hire a professional

Or you will drive yourself crazy... and not have a couch for almost three months while you finish it.

Guess where we went.

Baby Likes Chocolate

Garrit made the mistake of leaving his box of cookies on the ground. I came downstairs and found this...

Going Fishetarian

I can't eat chicken anymore; I love my chickens too much.

And I feel bad eating turkey too... since they're so closely related to chickens.

I haven't been able to eat beef since I ate (almost) a whole cow last summer.

And I hardly ever eat bacon... because pigs are just so darn cute.

(Awww... Wilber... Sigh.)

So the only thing left to eat is fish, right?

But seriously...

I'm (almost) a vegetarian lately.

Especially after reading this book.

My husband keeps calling me a hippie. (Which is like a swear word where he comes from.) But I haven't missed eating meat one bit.

You should try it.

Utah is Wierd

Why are people so good looking here?

Is it something in the water?

I must not be drinking enough water.

July?

I can't believe it's already July.

June flew by FAST.

I guess that's because we have been INSANELY busy.

I have lots of pictures and funny stories to share... later.

For now, here's a cute shot of us in Yosemite.

Aren't my kids ADORABLE???

XOXO

Our family has grown!

Meet our new peeps...

Here's Ferdinand...

And Chicken Little...

And Chicken Dinner...

And Tigger...

And our rooster Butch... (At least, we think it's a rooster.)

Now if I could only talk my husband into buying me a horse and a pig, my life would be complete...

We're Havin' So Much Fun...

And it's not even summer yet.

Here are some more spring vacay highlights (for Grandma).

Drew the shark in St. George.

Ridin' those wild sea horses at CA adventure.

My sweet hearts at Disneyland. Dang they're cute.

Bird watching at the beach.

Sandy little beach bum.
