The point is, if the government recognizes gay marriage as equal to traditional marriage, anyone who does not condone gay marriage becomes intolerant and backward in the eyes of the state. Schools suddenly need to enlighten the young children to more "tolerant" thinking, and teachers with that agenda in mind can definitely trump the requests of the parents.
It's just one more way the schools can convince children that religion is not a good thing...and if you have a fun, young, persuasive teacher with a class that adores him/her, what parent can compete? The parent suddenly becomes the bad (or at least ignorant) guy.
This is all crazy...I honestly never thought we would actually get to this point. Even the vice presidential candidates say "marriage" should be defined as between a man and a woman...but the gay activists are a powerful group. If Prop 8 does not pass, you can bet they will do all in their power to promote their agenda.
