Dear Janea,

I don't know the whole story but here is some good advice:

Don't let your expectations get in the way of your happiness.

In other words, just because life (with or without Tanner) isn't what you imagined, that doesn't mean you can't be happy on the road less traveled.

That said, I vote for Tanner. You should call me.
